What's New for the 2020 Ford Fusion?
The Ford Fusion has evolved dramatically since its first generation hit the market in 2006, and it is more appealing now than ever before. The 2020 Ford Fusion is a midsize sedan that reflects the improvements from a significant facelift in 2019, and it also brings a few additional changes to the table. For example, the Sport trim with a V6 engine that was available in 2019 is no longer offered. Also, the paddle shifters that were available with the 1.5-liter engine in last year’s Ford Fusion have been eliminated. The 2020 Ford Fusion is available in eight trims, and half of these are hybrid powertrain variations. The entry-level trim has a 2.5-liter I-VCT engine with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Gas-powered alternatives are a 1.5-liter EcoBoost and a 2.0-liter EcoBoost. Some trims have start-stop technology, paddle shifters, Select-Shift, intelligent all-wheel drive, and other technologies that elevate your driving experience.
Throughout the 2020 Fusion’s interior and exterior, you will notice fresh, modern styling with a sporty edge. The geometric grille dominates the front end, and it is accompanied by a sporty element across the lower fascia and aggressive headlights. Its safety technologies may include brake assist, hill start assist, a voice-activated navigation system, an SOS post-crash alert, rain-sensing windshield wipers, electronic stability control with AdvanceTrac, LATCH gear for child safety, airbags with a front passenger occupant sensor, a rearview camera, automatic high beams, a reverse sensing system, hill start assist, stop-and-go with adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection and other items. The 2020 Fusion’s additional features that may be available depending on the trim are power-adjusting leather seats with front heating and cooling, a Sony audio system, infotainment system equipment, SiriusXM satellite radio, a push-button start, remote entry, power door locks, and several other items.
