The direct-injection engine comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The second engine option offered is the upgraded EcoBoost engine, which features a 2.0-Liter turbocharged four-cylinder with direct injection. This option pumps out 250 hp with 280 lb.-ft of torque. The last engine option comes in the 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid. The 2020 Escape Hybrid comes with a liquid-cooled 1.1-kW-hour battery pack alongside a 2.5-Liter Atkinson-cycle inline four-cylinder engine and a continuously variable transmission.
On the other hand, the 2020 Chevy Equinox is offered with two engine options. The first standard base engine is the 1.5-Liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine pushing out 170 horsepower at 5600 rpm with 203 lb.-ft of torque. This base engine option also comes with a 6-speed shiftable automatic transmission. The second, high-performance option features a 2.0-Liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a 9-speed shiftable automatic transmission. This model pumps out 252 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft of torque.
Interior Space
While the rear passenger space for both the 2020 Escape and the 2020 Equinox are comparable, the 2020 Ford Escape comes with a slightly larger interior cabin than the 2020 Chevy Equinox. This provides a more comfortable experience for the driver and front-seat passenger alike. Safety Features
