2020 Ford Escape vs 2020 Honda CR-V

Serving Wellington, OH

In 2020, the Ford Escape returns with a bold new look and completely refreshed interior, giving consumers, even more, to enjoy inside and out. This classy SUV now has a hybrid powertrain as well as a more modern and contemporary design. While the Ford Escape is refreshed for the 2020 model year, the 2020 Honda CR-V, which is one of its competitors, doesn't get as many new updates and changes. Furthermore, it lags behind the Ford Escape in critical areas such as exterior appearance and interior amenities, making the Ford Escape a top choice for a stylish and capable SUV that gets you and your passengers where you need to go in style and comfort.

Features

Even at the base level, the 2020 Ford Escape comes well-equipped with amenities. The entry-level trim is equipped with an infotainment display screen and several pleasant creature comforts, including a power-adjustable driver's seat, which is not a standard addition on most entry-level vehicles. Furthermore, the new and improved Ford Escape is equipped with Ford's own award-winning SYNC 3 infotainment system. Other handy features you'll find at a minimum include rear parking sensors and a hands-free power liftgate. Additional features, including a heated steering wheel, heated seats, and upgraded upholstery, are included on the higher-level trims.

Along with these features, a larger 12-inch digital display screen is standard starting with the second trim level. The 2020 Honda CR-V, in comparison, gets only a seven-inch display screen at most. Additionally, a power-operated driver's seat is only offered on the higher-end models.

Performance

The 2020 Ford Escape's powertrain offers an exceptional combination of power and efficiency thanks to a new hybrid powertrain system. There are several choices of the powertrain with the Ford Escape to provide the right level and combination of power, performance, and fuel economy that you need. The base trim comes with a turbocharged engine that has a 1.5L capacity and three cylinders. This engine can create a maximum of 181 HP, and it produces just under 200 LB-FT of torque. The base engine is automatically paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. You can get the new hybrid powertrain starting with the SE Sport. This trim and the higher-level trims have a combination of a gasoline engine and an electric motor that delivers 200 HP. This engine is also slightly larger at 2.5L and four cylinders. The Honda CR-V, in contrast, only has one engine, a 1.5L with four cylinders. The most power you'll get with this SUV is 190 HP, and there is no hybrid option.

Design

With a new design this year, the Ford Escape is a car that turns heads on the road. The sculpted body design is a highlight of this year's Escape, which also comes with angled headlights and a bold front grille. Roof rails, LED lights, and a hands-free liftgate are some exterior design highlights of the Ford Escape. The Honda CR-V gets only minor changes to its back end this year, and its shell lacks the Escape's more dynamic design.
