The most powerful gas engine is a turbo 3.5-liter V6 engine that puts out 400 horsepower. The F-150 is also available with a 3.5-liter V6 hybrid engine with a net output of 430 horsepower. On the other hand, the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning has a pair of electric motors combined with a battery pack, and the combination gives you 426 horsepower. This unit has a 230-mile range.

Appearance

The most notable differences between the exterior of the 2021 Ford F-150 and the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning are found on the nose. Both models have a squared-off nose with a tall grille. On the F-150, the grille rounds out at the ends as it connects with a pair of stacked LED headlights.
