2021 Ford F-150 vs 2020 Ford F-150

Serving Wellington, OH

In 2021, the Ford F-150 is much different from its 2020 counterpart. The Ford F-150 is fully redesigned in 2021, complete with updated styling on the outside, some new technology, and a hybrid powertrain option, which is perhaps the most significant change of all. The 2021 Ford F-150 still comes in the same trim levels as 2020. You'll get an increasing number of features on the higher-end trims, including innovative safety features such as hands-free automated driving.

Performance

In 2021, the Ford F-150 has more performance options than before. The same engines will return in 2021 from the 2020 model year and a newly-offered hybrid powertrain. To start, you can get a 2.7L V6 engine with a power output reaching 325 HP and 400 LB-FT in torque. The second engine in the lineup is a 5.0L V8 that increases the F-150's power output to 395 HP. A turbocharged 3.5L V6 follows with an increased power capacity of 375 HP and 470 LB-FT of torque. This engine is modified in the Limited and Raptor trims to deliver 450 HP. The diesel engine, also offered in 2021, produces 250 HP and 440 LB-FT of torque. In 2021 you can select the hybrid system with the 3.5L V6 engine from 2020 paired with an electric motor that delivers 47 HP.

Appearance

The 2021 Ford F-150 has a more refined exterior appearance in 2021. This year it gets large headlights and an expansive front grille with chrome accents. Chrome touches are placed around the exterior for a more upscale look. Alloy wheels are offered on the higher-end trims. The Raptor has several custom exterior options such as skid plates, flared fenders, and upgraded off-road tires. New for 2021 is a Tailgate Work Surface that increases productivity at the tail end of the truck. Full LED lighting in front and back is available as an upgrade, and you can also get extended running boards for the 2021 F-150.

Features

A highlight of the 2021 F-150's interior is the addition of a new infotainment display screen. This year, you can get a 12-inch display with a touchscreen interface. Real-time updates are available over the air for the 2021 F-150. It also receives a SYNC 4 infotainment system with cutting-edge features such as voice control and precise navigation.
