2022 Ford Maverick vs 2021 Ford Ranger

Serving Wellington, OH

As you get to know the Ford truck line, the all-new Ford Maverick may immediately jump out at you. This is a smaller truck model that is placed at the front of the lineup, and the popular Ford Ranger sits directly next to it. The Ranger is an established model with extensive appeal among drivers who are in the market for a smaller, well-equipped truck. With this in mind, how do the 2022 Ford Maverick and the 2021 Ford Ranger compare to each other?

Performance

Both of these truck models are well-designed under the hood, but their engineering differs considerably. The Ford Maverick debuts with a 2.5-liter hybrid engine. It can tow 4,000 pounds, and it uniquely has a 40-mile-per-gallon fuel economy rating. On the other hand, the Ford Ranger is powered by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine that produces 270 horsepower.

Appearance

Visually, the Maverick and the Ranger have a strong family resemblance, but they are easy to tell apart. The Maverick boasts relatively compact dimensions with C-shaped LED headlights and flush wheel fenders. The lower-front fascia integrates smoothly with the other nose elements. The grille has a rectangular theme with a horizontal bar that links the headlights together. On the other hand, the Ranger has flared wheel fenders, and the headlights have an almost rectangular shape. The Ranger’s grille is rounded, and its trim connects to the headlights.

Features

Both of these models are impressively equipped throughout their two-row cabins. Some or all trims come with a sound system, an auto climate control system, a wireless internet hotspot, powered front seats, USB ports, smart device integration, and an extensive range of other features that you want your next truck to have.
