Performance
Both of these truck models are well-designed under the hood, but their engineering differs considerably. The Ford Maverick debuts with a 2.5-liter hybrid engine. It can tow 4,000 pounds, and it uniquely has a 40-mile-per-gallon fuel economy rating. On the other hand, the Ford Ranger is powered by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine that produces 270 horsepower.
Appearance
Visually, the Maverick and the Ranger have a strong family resemblance, but they are easy to tell apart. The Maverick boasts relatively compact dimensions with C-shaped LED headlights and flush wheel fenders. The lower-front fascia integrates smoothly with the other nose elements. The grille has a rectangular theme with a horizontal bar that links the headlights together.
