Serving Wellington, OH

The Ford F-150 has been a strong contender for truck buyers for several decades, so it understandably has your full attention as you prepare to make your next purchase. In 2021, the F-150’s 14th generation debuted with brilliant updates from bumper to bumper. Because of the recent improvements, Ford has only made a few changes to the 2022 model year. After you take a closer look at the 2021 F-150’s and 2022 version’s features and equipment, you can make your next truck selection with confidence.

Performance

The most significant difference between the 2021 and 2022 F-150 trucks is the elimination of a powertrain in the latest model year. Specifically, the 3.0-liter diesel system is not offered in the 2022 model year. Six powertrains carry up from the 2021 model year. The base trim level’s powertrain includes a 3.3-liter, V6, 290-horsepower engine. Two turbocharged V6 engines are available, and they produce 325 horsepower and 450 horsepower. A 5.0-liter, V8 engine that delivers 400 horsepower is offered with select trims. In addition, a hybrid 3.5-liter, V6 PowerBoost engine is offered, and it produces 430 combined horsepower.

Appearance

The F-150’s body style has not changed between the 2021 and 2022 model years. However, a Black Appearance package is offered for the first time in 2022, and it adds dark materials and accents throughout. The F-150’s exterior was refreshed in 2021, and it continues to have modern appeal in the latest model year. The truck has prominent dimensions with a strong, tall hood and confident accentuation through the sides and across the fenders. Tall headlights flank an encompassing grille. Wheel sizes range from 17 inches to 22 inches.

Features

There are no changes to the F-150’s features on a trim-by-trim basis. Select or all trims for both years come with a two-panel moonroof, powered running boards, leather upholstery, heated and massaging front seats, a Bang & Olufsen sound system with 18 speakers, a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, a dual-zone climate control system and other equipment.
