2023 Ford Bronco Sport vs 2023 Ford Explorer

Serving Wellington, OH

The Bronco and the Explorer have been popular nameplates in the Ford lineup for several decades. The Bronco Sport is a compact crossover version of the Bronco, and it has off-road capabilities and great features. On the other hand, the Explorer is a midsize SUV with a three-row cabin. Before picking out your new SUV, what else should you know about these exciting Ford models?

Performance

The first three of the 2023 Bronco Sport's trims are outfitted with a 181-horsepower, turbo 1.5-liter, three-cylinder engine. The top Badlands trim has a 250-horsepower, turbo 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. These both are linked with an auto eight-speed transmission and standard all-wheel drive. The 2023 Ford Explorer, on the other hand, has two gas engine options and a hybrid alternative. The two gas engines are a four-cylinder, turbo 2.3-liter, 300-horsepower unit and a turbo 3.0-liter, V6, 400-horsepower option. A hybrid V6 turbo 3.3-liter system provides 318 combined horsepower.

Appearance

The 2023 Ford Bronco Sport beautifully expresses its confident capabilities throughout the exterior. At the front end, the Bronco logo runs boldly along the curved grille. The headlights have a standout quality with a horizontal LED bar and a rounded element. The lower bumper is beefy, and its molding carries around to the side panels. A boxy cabin enhances the tall profile. The 2023 Ford Explorer has an extended profile with angled definition through its sides and roof. From bumper to bumper, the lower body has black and metallic elements. The front end has horizontal, LED-topped headlights, horizontal foglights, and a hexagon-style grille.

Features

Some or all trims for both of these Ford SUVs come with adaptive cruise control, a navigation system, wireless smart device app connectivity, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, leather material, driver's side memory settings, a wireless charging pad, parking sensors, heated seats, a household power outlet, a heated steering wheel and more. The Explorer has a few additional features not available in the Bronco Sport: massaging front seats, adaptive headlights, rear auto braking, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, second-row captain's chairs, and other exciting features.
