With quality options like the compact Escape crossover and the midsize Edge available in Ford's 2023 lineup, deciding which model to call your own requires a closer look at what each one offers. These popular and established models offer two rows of seating and many comparable features but also deliver different on-the-road experiences. Before making your final selection, what should you know about the 2023 Ford Escape and the 2023 Edge?

Performance

The Escape is offered with two gas engines as well as hybrid and plug-in hybrid options. The gas-powered systems are a 180-horsepower, turbo three-cylinder unit, and a 250-horsepower, turbo four-cylinder alternative. The 2.5-liter, four-cylinder hybrid engine generates 210 combined horsepower, and the plug-in hybrid variation has comparable capabilities. The 2023 Edge has a 250-horsepower, turbo four-cylinder system in most trims. The top Edge trim, however, has a 335-horsepower turbo V6 engine.

Appearance

The Escape shows off fresh styling for 2023, including radiant mesh on the wide grille and wedge-style LED headlights. Its sporty look is established by its short, tapered hood and bold roof curvature. The sides are also deeply contoured and display thick molding. The 2023 Ford Edge has taller, flatter surfaces across its profile, and its grille extends to a point on both sides. The headlights are larger with a bold LED accent. Prominent molding and defined fenders complete the look on the Edge's sides.

Features

The 2023 Escape and the 2023 Edge are thoughtfully outfitted with an extensive selection of quality features and modern technologies. Some of the equipment that they have in common includes an automated parking system, a panoramic sunroof, leather upholstery, a head-up display, Ford Co-Pilot 360 safety tech, a wireless charging pad, a 13.2-inch touch display screen, a navigation system, and others. The Edge may also come with accent stitching and suede accents, a front-facing camera, and additional features depending on the trim selected.
