For SUV shoppers who need a third row of seats and substantial power behind the wheel, the well-equipped, full-size Expedition is a smart option. The Ford Expedition's fourth generation launched in 2018, and the 2023 and 2024 versions are included in this generation. Performance
Both of these Expedition model years are available with the same three powertrains. At the beginning of the trim lineup, a 380-horsepower, V6 turbo 3.0-liter engine pairs with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Mid-level Expedition trims come with an enhanced V6 engine that produces 440 horsepower. With this powertrain, the Expedition may also be outfitted with a limited-slip electronic differential, low-range gearing, a heavy-duty radiator, and an off-road suspension. Top Expedition trims are equipped with a V6, 400-horsepower engine, and an adaptive suspension. If you add the Stealth Performance package to your Expedition, your SUV will have a sport suspension.
Appearance
A few small yet meaningful improvements have been made to the 2024 Expedition. The latest model year comes with the option of a Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow package and front tow hooks. All 2024 trims are now available with Wild Green exterior paint as well. For both model years, the Ford Expedition shows off a tall cabin, a pinstripe crease across the side doors, and squared-off LED headlights. Select trims may also come with two-tone paint, a power liftgate, up to 22-inch wheels, a panoramic sunroof, powered running boards, and all-terrain tires.
Features
Ford has also added a few minor changes to the 2024 Expedition. These include second-row USB-C power ports and a free 12-month subscription for the Connected Navigation service. The other features available in the Ford Expedition at various trim levels are unchanged between the 2023 and 2024 versions. Some of these are keyless ignition, a 12-inch central display screen or bigger, a surround-view camera, a blind-spot alert, second-row captain's chairs, smart device app wireless connectivity, driver's memory settings, a tri-zone climate control system, leather upholstery, a wireless charging station, heated first and second-row seats, power-folding seats in the rear row, adaptive cruise control and a Bang & Olufsen premium sound system.
