Ford's Future in Electrification

Electric Ford Vehicles

Ford has been a leader in automotive innovation throughout its history, and it is leading the charge in the industry's electrification. Electric vehicles, including cars, crossovers, scooters, and more, can change the way people move. In the process, they may reduce traffic congestion, decrease the output of polluting gases and deliver other benefits. However, one question lingers. Do today's cities have the infrastructure in place to adapt to electrification?

On June 29, 2021, Ford hosted the City of Tomorrow Summit to explore this critical question in detail. Ford's leaders met with community and city officials, private business leaders, and others at the summit. One of the most significant deterrents that prevent individual consumers from purchasing electric vehicles is charging. When surveyed, up to 70 percent of drivers said they would be more likely to purchase an electric vehicle if public charging stations were more plentiful. While this is a significant obstacle that cities must overcome, it is only one of several topics discussed in detail at the 2021 City of Tomorrow Summit.

While cities work individually to address issues presented at the City of Tomorrow Summit, Ford continues innovating electric vehicles. In fact, Ford now carries a diverse range of plug-in hybrid and all-electric cars, SUVs, and trucks. If you have not explored the Ford lineup recently, now is a wonderful time to stop by Harrison Ford Inc. for a closer look and a few behind-the-wheel experiences.
