Engine, Transmission, and Performance.

The Maverick’s front-wheel drive base model runs on a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which provides 238 horsepower. That power, coupled with its eight-speed automatic transmission, gives the Maverick excellent acceleration from a stop.

An optional hybrid powertrain is also available, powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor for a combined 191 horsepower. The hybrid setup has a continuously variable transmission. During acceleration, there is a smooth transition between the electric and gas motors. All-wheel drive is optional with either the all-gas or hybrid drivetrain.

Towing Capacity and Payload

The 2025 Maverick offers a maximum payload of 1,500 pounds, with the Tremor version limited to 1,140 pounds. Towing capacity weighs in at 2,000 pounds. However, with the optional Tow package, the Maverick doubles its towing capacity to 4,000 pounds.

Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

The four-door Maverick’s crew cabin seats five and incorporates many storage compartments inside the cabin, including two sizeable compartments under the rear seats. The front-row seats offer ample room for the driver and side passenger. Adjustable lumbar support in the front seats, remote keyless entry, and a telescoping steering wheel with audio controls are all standard.

The Maverick has a 4.5-foot-long bed with a load-in/load-out height of 30 inches. The bed has a 12-volt power outlet which comes standard. A 110-volt outlet is available as an option.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The 2025 Maverick comes standard with a 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system in all trims. Sirius satellite radio, wireless Apple CarPlay, and wireless Android Auto are also standard, as is an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot. There is also a standard front USB-C and USB-A port. A 6-speaker audio system comes standard with an option for an 8-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system.

Safety

The 2025 Maverick comes with a host of standard driver-assist features, including automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and a rearview camera.
