Meet the 2025 Ford Maverick: Compact Utility Redefined

The 2025 Ford Maverick pickup is redefining what a compact truck can do. This capable and practical pickup delivers in all the right categories, including towing, payload, cabin room, and power. The Maverick's front-wheel drive base model runs on a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which provides 238 horsepower. That power, coupled with its eight-speed automatic transmission, gives the Maverick excellent acceleration from a stop. An optional hybrid powertrain is also available, powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with an electric motor for a combined 191 horsepower. The hybrid setup has a continuously variable transmission. During acceleration, there is a smooth transition between the electric and gas motors. All-wheel drive is optional with either the all-gas or hybrid drivetrain. Towing Capacity and Payload The 2025 Maverick offers a maximum payload of 1,500 pounds, with the Tremor version limited to 1,140 pounds. Towing capacity weighs in at 2,000 pounds. However, with the optional Tow package, the Maverick doubles its towing capacity to 4,000 pounds.
